Laura and Marie are school girls from Denmark. In April 2013 they started the Instagram account @HairandNailsInspiration which then grew into the book Braids: Step by Step, published by People’s Press, Denmark and sold in countries such as Sweden, the Netherlands, Japan, Norway, Estonia, Brazil and Finland.8000 copies of Braids: Step by Step and it’s Afrikaans translation were sold in just two months, last year in 2015. This popular trend continues today as braids remain a major fashion trend, and are worn by many celebrities and popular icons.

Puku Reviewer Aurian, 13 years old, reviewed Laura and Marie’s second book, Favourite Braids:This book is on how to do hair braiding, and it gives you a step-by-step guide through the styles. It shows the trendiest and most popular braids from Laura and Marie, two girls who became friends through their love for pretty hair.I found this information interesting because I too have long hair and I’m always looking for help with it. Photo: Braiding styles from Laura and Marie, Favourite BraidsPhoto: Braiding styles from Laura and Marie, Favourite BraidsI liked this book because it is all about braids – there are braids for every level of expertise, and included are step-by-step picture guides which helped me learn how to master certain braids. I like learning how to create braids that keep my hair out of my face while still looking pretty, and how to do styles that are quick and easy for our busy everyday lives. This book has affected me, mainly because it makes me want to do braids even more! The nice thing is that I am currently learning how to do braids in my own hair, and if I ever get lost, I have the book to refer back to.I can’t say I have one favourite part as the whole book was a joy to read, but I can say that reading Laura and Marie`s background information was very interesting. My least favourite part is the elastic braid as I still don’t understand it, even after reading over it many times!I’d recommend this book to teenage girls with long hair. Why I would recommend it to them is because most of these braids work better on long hair, but can be done on short hair too. In conclusion this is a wonderful book for learning how to do braids and is a must-have for girls and ladies who want to have stylish braids.””aura and Marie are school girls from Denmark.
