Ndakukhula is a story of hope that aims at showing the children the stages of life, in showing them it does not only focus on the future but celebrates each achievement according to the stage for an example, when She was hanging washing for her mother it was a very meaningful exercise to her and her mother. They had time to celebrate and enjoy time together while she learns and makes mistakes to learn and improve from.
Such moments are to be cheered loudly in order to give the children the confidence to grow and continue learning each day. The book also speaks into future goals and dreams as in her utterances she later says she wants to grow to be a lawyer one day. This is a typical phase of a child where they start to get a sense of direction as to which role they want to play in life and why they choose to take such path.
The illustrations speak to the concept of the book and it is easy to grasp for children, the writing clear for young children at crèche level to read or learn to read for themselves. It is easy to translate the illustration into words meaning before the child could even read what is written they can already tell what is going on from the illustrations themselves.
